Blue Beetle Entertainment is a South African online entertainment publisher established in February 2009 to manage a variety of web properties.

Based in Cape Town, Blue Beetle is responsible for the publishing, oversight and maintenance of several entertainment and informational websites, as listed below.

The company grew out of its predecessor, TashiTagg Entertainment, which oversaw the development of our first sites, TashiTagg.com and TVSA.

The company is owned by Luke and Tashi Tagg. Our technical partner, Neural Systems, provides the backend, functionality and other coding requirements our sites are built upon.

TashiTagg.com was an online popular culture magazine that entertained audiences with trendy content updated throughout the day, seven days a week.

In addition to its content it offered visitors various interactive member services including discussion forums, messaging and live chat. TT appealed to both local and global audiences and shared a love of all aspects of universal culture with its readers.

Through its daily columnists and bloggers TT provided audiences with alternative perspectives from the mainstream media - encouraging subjectivity, challenging opinion and debate.

It also actively embraced and enjoyed interaction with the mainstream media of TV, film, radio, print and online publications.

On Sunday 26 August 2007, TashiTagg.com was closed for good.

TVSA

Launched: 2 May, 2006
Genre: Television
Visit: www.tvsa.co.za

TashiTagg.com built its reputation on the back of original television commentary and was the first South African website to commentate reality shows on a daily basis, and to offer a place for TV-lovers to discuss and write in-depth articles about shows on South African television.

TT's television content was republished on numerous reputable websites including Iafrica.com, MSN, Mail & Guardian and News24.

With the introduction of blogging to TashiTagg.com in January 2006 the television content - which had previously been the major site drawcard - started getting lost in a deluge of brilliant, explosive pop culture blogging.

Thus the idea for TVSA was born, which went live on 2 May, 2006.

In 2006 all television-related content was moved from TashiTagg.com to TVSA, forming a brand new television-based website. The site was an instant success, attracting more than 15,000 visitors in its first month.

TVSA has since become the ultimate authority on South African television, with well over 150,000 unique visitors each month.

The site features TV blogs, editorial content, forums, actor and show ratings, show pages, actor profiles, TV jobs, schedules and more.

TVSA regularly breaks TV-related news and gossip and is frequently quoted in the print media. The site was the official online media partner to one of SABC2's biggest properties, the reality dance competition Strictly Come Dancing, in 2008.
